About Dr. Eduardo Parra-Davila
Eduardo Parra-Davila, MD, FACS, FASCRS is a bariatric, colorectal and general surgeon dedicated to providing the community with comprehensive care. Dr. Parra-Davila leads the Palm Beach Digital Surgery Institute in West Palm Beach and is on staff at nearby Good Samaritan Medical Center. He specializes in bariatric weight loss surgery, hernia and abdominal wall reconstruction, colorectal cancer, diverticulitis, rectal prolapse, endometriosis, incontinence, hemorrhoids, gallbladder disease, gastroesophageal reflux, robotics and minimally invasive surgery.
With more than 30 years of experience caring for patients, Dr. Parra-Davila is known for a robotic surgical approach that often avoids open surgery, instead operating through very small incisions. This approach minimizes infection, pain and recovery times.
Dr. Parra-Davila completed two fellowships for his education and training: one in advanced laparoscopy minimally invasive surgery at the Texas Endosurgery Institute in San Antonio and a second in colon and rectal surgery at the University of Texas in Houston. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Miami, Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami. Dr. Parra-Davila graduated medical school from the University of Los Andes in Merida, Venezuela.
Committed to advancing the field of medicine, Dr. Parra-Davila has given numerous national and international conferences and trained thousands of surgeons in minimally invasive and robotic surgery worldwide. He has also participated in several research studies that include robotic surgery in colorectal and abdominal wall reconstruction.
Dr. Parra-Davila is a founding member of the Society of Robotic Surgeons and the Clinical Robotic Surgery Association and previously served on the board of the American Hernia Society. He is trilingual in English, Spanish and Portuguese.
